NFL Jerseys Blog : History Message About The New York Giants

November 4th, 2009

The history of the New York Giants, an American football team which currently plays in the NFL’s National Football Conference, comprises more than 80 seasons. The Giants were founded in 1925 by original owner Tim Mara in the then five-year-old NFL. Mara owned the team until his death in 1959, when it was passed on to his sons Wellington and Jack. During their history the Giants have acquired seven NFL championships, three of which came in Super Bowls.

In just its third season, the team finished with the best record in the league at 11–1–1 and was awarded the NFL title. In a fourteen year period beginning in 1933, the Giants qualified to play in the NFL championship game eight times, winning twice. They did not win another league title until 1956, aided by several future Pro Football Hall of Fame players such as running back Frank Gifford, linebacker Sam Huff, and offensive tackle Roosevelt Brown. From 1958 to 1963, the Giants played in the NFL championship game five out of those six years, but failed to win. The 1958 NFL Championship game, in which they lost 23–17 in overtime to the Baltimore Colts, is widely credited with increasing the popularity of the NFL in the United States.

The Giants registered only two winning seasons from 1964 to 1980 and were unable to advance to the playoffs. But from 1981 to 1990, the team qualified for the postseason seven times in ten seasons. During that period, they won Super Bowl XXI (1987) and Super Bowl XXV (1991). The team’s success during the 1980s was aided by head coach Bill Parcells, quarterback Phil Simms, and Hall of Fame linebackers Lawrence Taylor and Harry Carson. The Giants struggled throughout much of the 1990s as Parcells left the team and players such as Simms and Taylor declined and eventually retired. They returned to the Super Bowl in 2001, where they lost to the Baltimore Ravens, and as of 2007 have made the playoffs in three consecutive seasons. In the 2007 season, the Giants upset the heavily favored New England Patriots, 17-14, in Super Bowl XLII.

Cheap nfl jerseys blog:Wear Jerseys Support for the Ongoing NFL Match

November 4th, 2009

Today, we have unified NFL jerseys for each team, like NFL Arizona Cardicals jerseys, New York jerseys. However, do you know at beginning, there were no unified NFL jerseys?

At beginning of the 19th century, society was very conservative. Nineteenth century players sported long sleeveless t-shirts, not today’s short sleeveless NFL football jerseys, baggy breeches that came below the knee, ankle socks, and low-top, inflexible leather shoes.

By the 1920s, fashions on and off the playing field became much less conservative. Track sportswear now included medium-length cotton shorts; cotton t-shirts with cap sleeves, and tight leather booties. At the end of World War II, players began to show some skin. Uniforms from the late 1940s comprised extremely short cotton shorts, thin-strap cotton tank tops, ankle socks, and shoes similar to low-top Converse. Then in the 1960s synthetic fabrics became the norm and the development of the modern track sportswear uniform took place.

If you want to buy throwback jerseys, they can be easily purchased from any sports jerseys shop. They make exciting personalized gifts if the recipient is a loyal fan of a player. Show your admiration and fanfare for a particular team and buy the latest league jersey before it vanishes from the shelves of the sports attire store. One can also display a feeling of adherence to a particular football subculture by sporting a throwback jersey of a sportsperson and a team.

Sportspersons who are related to a specific team, a football club, football leagues or schools sport the official jersey belonging to that club or team. Every football team usually has the official sports T-shirt available in two colors; one for the games, which are held on the home grounds and another, T-shirt for football games held in foreign countries.

Sports NFL jerseys can be worn as a symbol of support during the ongoing football season. Available in amazing sizes and colors, sports jersey can help NFL fans to become the centre of attention, wherever they go. Logo

The Dallas Cowboys‘ blue star logo is associated with the team is one of the best known logos in sports. The blue star originally was a solid shape until a white line and blue border was added in 1964. The logo has remained the same since. Today, the blue star has been extended to not only the Dallas Cowboys, but owner Jerry Jones’ AFL team, the Dallas Desperados that have a similar logo based on the Cowboys. The blue star also is used on other enties like an imaging facility and storage facility.

Uniforms

The Dallas Cowboys’ white home jersey has royal blue (PMS 280 C) solid socks, numbers, lettering, and two stripes on the sleeves outlined in black. The home’ pants, according to the Dallas Cowboys official media guide, are a unique metallic silver-green color (PMS 8280 C) that help bring out the blue in the uniform. The navy (PMS 289 C) road jerseys (nicknamed the “Stars and Stripes” jersey) have white lettering and numbers with navy pinstripes. A white/gray/white stripe are on each sleeve as well as the collared V-neck, and a Cowboys star logo is placed upon the stripes. A “Cowboys” chest crest is directly under the NFL shield. Cheap NFL Jerseys Blog:Different Symbols for Different Football Teams

October 30th, 2009

As other football fans, I am keen on good sports players but also love their something associated with them. Because NFL become one of the most well-known sport all over the world, so there are a variety of different symbols for different football teams, we are familiar with NFL jerseys which team you are loved. And each football fanatic wants to own a football Jersey. They think it as their status symbols.
A football jersey is the binding factor of teamwork in this game that has become very popular over the years. Football has been enjoyed in England for centuries already before it became popular worldwide. It is believed to have started in the 2nd and 3rd centuries BC in China. Others refer to the Roman’s harpist game as the origin and have spread throughout medieval Europe where the rules of the game evolved continuously up to our present time. The modern soccer jersey is light and does not cling to a wet body.
It comes in bright colors and others have bold lines for distinction. Team insignias and logos of sponsors or multinational companies also get imprinted on it for marketing
purposes. Months before international competitions, stores parade their football jersey merchandises for the fans who would like to purchase one or two they can wear to the games. These shirts could be the originals worn by the popular players in the previous games, or they can be replicas. Replica football jersey stores sell uniforms for every team, brand, and nation there is.
The most popular jerseys for the fans are those that have the names of their favorite players printed on them like Beckham or Ronald. It doesn’t matter if they’re retired or
active players; the fans are much too eager to go to the stadium and proudly show off their soccer jerseys. International competitions like the World Cup and UEFA Championships, which attract millions of fans worldwide, have been instrumental in the teeming success of the soccer shops that sell merchandises like the soccer jersey. They can sell in large numbers since people have become more and more attached to the game and their teams. Wearing a soccer jersey to a game, especially an international one, could also be a sign of country loyalty as the fan proudly wear his national team’s uniform together with the others who would like to see their team bring home the trophy for their country.
The soccer jersey has come a long way and has changed a lot through the times. The soccer game will continue to be a craze and we can only expect to see more and more soccer jerseys flaunted at the benches game after game.

NFL Jerseys Blog: Beginnings OF NFL’s History

October 30th, 2009

The National Football League was the idea of legendary athlete Jim Thorpe, player-coach of the Canton Bulldogs, and Leo Lyons, owner of the Rochester Jeffersons, a sandlot football team. Both the Jeffersons and the Buffalo All-Stars were barnstorming through Ohio at the time. After Lyons’s Jeffersons played, and lost badly to, Thorpe’s Bulldogs in a 1917 match, Lyons (wanting to build a sport that rivaled Major League Baseball in popularity) suggested to Thorpe that a league be formed. Plans could not be initiated immediately in 1918, due to the Spanish flu quarantines and the loss of players to World War I, which led to the Bulldogs suspending operations and most other teams either suspending operations or reducing their schedules to local teams.

The next year, however, Lyons started in his home state of New York, challenging a cluster of professional teams in Buffalo to a championship in 1919; the Buffalo Prospects took the challenge and won. Canton was already a part of the unofficial Ohio League, which included teams such as the Bulldogs, the Massillon Tigers, the Shelby Blues and the Ironton Tanks; Thorpe convinced Bulldogs manager Ralph Hay and other Ohio teams to play under a league-style format for 1919, after which the team barnstormed against the Detroit Heralds of Detroit, Michigan and the Hammond Pros of Chicago, Illinois. Other independent clusters of teams were playing at about the same time across Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Indiana; Pennsylvania and New York City also had teams but did not contribute any to the NFL at the time of its founding. This is especially notable since Pennsylvania is often considered to be the birthplace of professional football; at the time, Pennsylvania’s blue laws prevented any of that state’s teams from joining the league until 1924.

Cheap NFL jerseys blog:The Fan’s Sign of Redskins

October 30th, 2009

You may have seen post from a couple days ago about a Redskins’ fan at FedEx Field having his ‘Bingo Football Night’ sign confiscated.  Apparently, he would have had the sign taken even if it had said “I Love Vinny & Danny” or “Dan Snyder for President”.  I say ‘apparently’ because the  Redskins have a policy that precludes signs and banners.  I don’t know if the league bans signs and banners, but the Redskins do.  I also don’t know when that policy was implemented.  riggosrag will contact the Redskins to obtain answers to these questions.  We’ll update you.

One of our viewers mentioned that a fan had his paper bag confiscated, as well.  You know, the grocery bag with the eye and mouth hole cut-outs which fans wear when they’re afraid to be seen rooting for their team.  Okay, maybe that’s not actually why fans wear them, but you get the point.  Anyhoo, the official reason for banning signs & banners doesn’t bear out when it comes to a bag on someone’s head.  The Redskins say that the signs and banners block people’s view.  Really now?  For how long do fans hold up signs – all night?  I submit that fans who stand up when the Skins are in the red zone block other fans’ views a lot more frequently than sign-holders do.  Ban standing up if that’s the concern.

Back to the bag – I figure Dan Snyder can’t stand for the fans to be ‘disrespectful’.  Maybe he thinks it’s bad for team morale.  Maybe he just doesn’t like seeing the fruits of his and Vinny Cerrato’s handiwork.  That’s right, now that they’ve taken the play-calling duties away from Jim Zorn, I’m blaming the state of the offense on them along with the quarterback.  Of course statistically, Jason Campbell hasn’t been too  shabby.  It’s the factors stats don’t reveal that are disconcerting.

Here’s the bottom line – while I would never wear a bag on my head or display a disparaging sign, I would like to think the cost of admission includes the right to express my disappointment in a non-vulgar way.  If it does not, and apparently it doesn’t, I figure that says a lot about the character of someone in the Redskins’ front office.  Given the revelation this summer about general admission tickets being sold to third-party brokers, and the whole fan suing business, I’d say there definitely is a character issue inside the hallowed walls of Redskins’ Park.  Either it’s a matter of golden rule arrogance – the person with the gold rules – or it’s an elitist anti-fan sentiment.  Don’t know.  I do know there’s an odor waffling out from Asburn, VA.

I regularly remind myself that I root for the team, not the front office.  History tells me the sun will shine again on the Redskins.  Go Skins!
